Guat Spot

As time progresses and the chapters of history are written, new words and phrases situate themselves among the accepted vocabulary of our society. This is inevitable, and can be positive, but every so often it all goes wrong. Every so often a word is spawned which is so foul and disgusting to the eyes and ears of readers and listeners that it must be rejected by those of us who are responsible enough to do so. In the past decade, one such word has been created and has invaded our collective consciousness to a frightening degree. That word is "Blog". When I imagine what it might be like to hold a "blog", I vomit just a little bit in my mouth. "blog" is a word better suited to describe some strange variety of putrid, disease ridden, goo. In response to this assault on our vernacular, we have decided to fight fire with Guat. "Guat" is a similarly disgusting and arbitrary word, but invokes a much more comical response. We hope that "Guat" will take over and "blog" will suffer the very same wretched and horrifying fate that it sounds like it may describe. Blogs are dead. Welcome to the Guat.

Neil Dacosta’s Astronaut Suicides.  The best and most appropriate photo series I’ve seen in a while.  See the rest of the series here: http://www.neildacosta.com/project/astronaut-suicides-new/ and check out the rest of his work while you’re at it (including several appearances by the one and only Scotty Wittlake!)

Bjork + Michel Gondry = really really good

The new SixEleven film looks amazing!  Filmed at all my favorite spots as well, this teaser just left me very homesick and fiending for snow.

end of an era.

Corey Smith sighting.  Glad to see this dude back in action and KEEPING SNOWBOARDING FUN!  Take note.

There haven’t been a ton of new hip hop artists gaining popularity recently that I would classify as “interesting”, “talented”, or “relevant”.  Enter Money Making Jam Boys.  None of these guys are new, but they’re relatively new as a group.  Goes to show, you can be a little pop without sacrificing the craft.

Cannot wait for this show.  Turns out I requested the wrong day off for the opening, but you know, I’ll make it happen.
